the girl in her summer hats

Two hats I made for Antea this Summer - both with fabric from Sew Green. I have uploaded the template and instructions here.
The blue fabric had me discover the beauty of wax fabrics - especially the outstanding designs of Vlisco.
Oh - and Antea has learned how to say "hat" (except she says "hatti").

to catch her dreams

Dreamcatcher I made for Antea with thread and ribbon from Sew Green, three feathers we caught in the backyard and this intriguing pebble we found in Cayuga Lake that had a hole though it.

mr. rabbit, mr. rabbit, your fabric is very thin

Antea's toy that she sleeps with is Mr. Bobby, the rabbit.  It has gotten so worn out that it is fraying all over. I keep darning it but it is just a mess so I decided to replicate it in the hopes she would take to the new one ("Bunny 2").
I am very happy with the result but Antea was first suspicious, then amused, and now she politely ignores the impostor.
In any case here is the template I made for Bunny 2 following these instructions. The template doesn't include seam allowances.
I used a fat quarter I got at Sew Green.

sorbet top with template

Antea has a new summer top :)
The fabric and all the notions are from Sew Green :))
You can download the pattern here.
(on the top image you can also see the hanger I made - I wrapped a plastic hanger following this method except I used ribbon rather than strips of cloth)

Cloud 9 with template

Cloud mobile for Antea's crib. The top cloud is filled with both rice and poly-fil to give it weight so it hangs over the edge.
The initial reason for making the mobile was to cover an ugly notice that is painted onto the head board in a very visible area and cannot be removed.
You can download the template for the shapes here.
The shapes are sewn using 3 strands of embroidery floss in blanket stitch. The two clouds are attached with a 2-stitch i-cord in cotton yarn. The drops attach to the big cloud with 6 strands of embroidery floss.
